Removed all the "Contents" charts due to them screwing up, someone sort that out please? :)

Thanks!

This page is a translation of the Offcial FAQ on Universalcentury.net, wich can be found here.

GAME FEATURES:

Q. What kind of game is UCGO?

A. UCGO is an MMORPG set in the “Mobile Suit Gundam” universe. The users all play across the internet on a single server, and are able to play on either the Principality of Zeon or the Earth Federation Forces. Users can pilot the giant Mobile Suits, Mobile Armour, or they could chose to build them instead, or even just simply live in the Universal Century World.

Q. Where is the game set?

A: The game takes place on the continent of Australia, the skies above it, and even space. The user is able to venture to, explore and fight over eight cities across Australia, Four of which are in the control of the Earth Federation (Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Southern Cross) and the other four in the control of The Principality of Zeon (Melbourne, Adelaide,  Darwin and Bliss). There are also two other cities which both sides are currently fighting for control over, these are the PVP Cities of Newman, and Richmond.

Future expansions to land will be announced on the Official Support page.

Q: How many Mobile Suits can my Character produce or operate?

 A. The Earth Federation have 26 Mobile Suits, including the powerful Gundam Units. The Principality of Zeon have 31 types of Mobile Suit to choose from.

In addition to this there are 61 types of smaller vehicles, including cars and Mobile Armour. It’s also entirely possible to become an exclusive Mobile Armour pilot, choosing either aircraft or ground vehicles.

It is possible to produce all of these and sell them to other players; you can even build types that cannot be obtained through regular shops.

Q: How many characters can I have on my Account?

A: It is possible to have two characters per account.

Q: Am I restricted to selecting only one side of the war?

A: No, it is possible to have one character on either side, should you wish.

HARDWARE REQUIRMENTS:

Q: What are the minimum requirements to play UCGO?

A: Please read the “Minimum Requirements page” (Available right here on the Wiki). If you’re unsure whether your machine can run the game, please download the UCBench program, also available on the Wiki. (Translators Note: While it doesn’t say this on the official FAQ, expect the bench to lag a lot. It cranks up all the settings and the game doesn’t handle urban combat very well at times. Let the benchmark repeat at least 2 or 3 times to get a good indication of how it will run).

Q: Is it nessercary to connect to the internet to play this game?

A: Absolutely. You CANNOT run this game without being online.

Q: My Machine meets the minimum requirements; will I be able to run the game without problem?

A: The minimum requirements are based on development tools used to make the game. While the game should be playable, there may still be minor performance problems, but not enough to damage your enjoyment of the game.

Q: Is it possible to play 24 Hours a day, 365 days a year?

A: Not quiet. The servers are brought down between the hours of 10:00 to 13:00 daily. This is for maintenance and\or Patch deployment. It is NOT possible to log in and play, create, cancel or manage an account during these hours.

GETTING THE GAME:

(This is NOT the guide for signing up; you can find that on the bar on the top right)

Q: How can I play the game?

A: In order to play UCGO you need the UCGO client ad a registration code (translators note: If you’re outside of Japan, you will also need a valid credit card)

It is possible to download the client from Vector, or if in Japan, please check your nearest game retailer.

Q: How much is the retail version?

A: This depends on the version. The Limited Edition version and Dawn of Australia are “Open Price” this means that the retailer can set the price to anything they wish. Zero G Attack however should retail for approx 2,079 Yen (including tax). (Translators note: That’s about £10.00 or $20.00 at the time of writing)

Q: Do I have to pay for the client?

A: As of August 2006 you no longer have to pay for the client, however you must still have a valid subscription to the game, which is not longer provided by us, please purchase a key from Vector.

(Translators Note: Final question removed from translation, due to it turning into a repeat of an earlier question… that’s translation for you folks :) )

REGISTRING AN ACCOUNT:

(Again, this is a translation of the Official FAQ, if you are looking for the step by step sign up guide, please check the link on the top right)

Q: How do I play?

A: In order to play UCGO you first need to register your own account. To do this, please go to the “Account Management” page of the official Support Website and create a new account.

Q: What is the registration code?

A: The Registration code is a string of 20 characters which must be entered when creating a new account. This code will either be with your store bought package, or mailed to your e-mail account (If you bought the Vector Download”

THIS CODE CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE.

Q: Can I use a free e-mail account to register an account? (Such as Hotmail).

A: No. These do not provide enough security to have sensitive information mailed to them. We also will not mail to mobile phones.

A: It is possible to have multiple accounts; however each account must be having it own registration code. You must buy addition codes or boxed versions for each account.

Q: Can I transfer my account to a friend or family member?

A: No transferring the account to another person is prohibited. If we become aware of accounts changing hands, the account may be locked without warning.

Q: Is it possible to register the account in another person’s name (Such as a parent.)?

Q: Is there compensation for times when I cannot log into the server?

A: There are no repayments or refunds.

Q: If I cancel my account, what will happen to my characters?

Q: If I make two characters, will I be charged more?

A: No. Each account can handle two characters each.
